Acreage Examiner

San Jacinto Title Services is growing and currently seeking an experienced Acreage Examiner to join our team. As a licensed title company operating in 21 counties across Texas—and continuing to expand—this role is key to supporting our ongoing growth and maintaining the high standards our clients expect.
Position Overview
Success in this role means delivering accurate title commitments, identifying and resolving title issues efficiently, and working collaboratively with internal teams to support closings.
Key Responsibilities
- Review abstracts, title commitments, and complete chains of title
- Examine title records from patent to present for accuracy and completeness
- Identify and resolve title issues, including easements, liens, and encumbrances
- Prepare accurate title commitments and clear, concise reports
- Interpret legal descriptions, surveys, and related documentation
- Collaborate with closers, underwriters, and internal teams
- Manage multiple files while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
Qualifications
- 5+ years of title examination experience (acreage experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of real property law and title insurance practices
- Proven ability to independently prepare and review title commitments
- Ability to read and interpret legal descriptions, surveys, and plats
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple files efficiently
